Registering a company in Dubai is relatively inexpensive: a license costs from 5,000 AED ($1,360). The requirements for the authorized capital are determined by the administration of each free economic zone. For example, in the free zone of Ras Al Khaimah, the authorized capital of the company must be at least 100,000 AED ($27,200).

What documents are needed to open a company in Dubai?

The list of required documents depends on the type of company. To open an offshore company in Dubai, you must provide:
  • articles of association and memorandum of association;
  • the full name and address of each of the founders;
  • information on the size of the authorized capital, the number of shares, the par value of the company's share.

  • a copy of the prior authorization issued by the General Directorate for Residents and Foreigners;
  • a copy of the lease agreement;
  • memorandum of association;
  • license;
  • an agreement with a service agent certified by a notary;

Who can open a business in the UAE?
Our answer:
Individuals and legal entities can open a company in the United Arab Emirates. You can register a business in the name of a citizen or resident of the UAE, as well as a foreigner. The latter are allowed to own up to 100% of the business, according to Federal Law No. 19 "On Foreign Direct Investments".

Entrepreneurs choose the UAE for a favorable environment for business development and a loyal tax policy. A company in the UAE is exempt from paying tax on dividends, capital gains, qualifying intra-group transactions and reorganizations.

The income tax rate in the United Arab Emirates is one of the lowest in the world - 9%. It will begin to be collected on June 1, 2023. A business with a profit of less than AED 375,000 ($102,000) per year is exempt from income tax.
